How long does it take for Hershey's drops, Hershey's bar, and Hershey minis to melt?
Hypothesis
It is hypothesized is that the hershey’s drops will melt the fastest.
This is because it is the smallest out of the three types of candy’s which are hershey's bar (big rectangle), and Hershey's miniatures (small rectangle.) My hypothesis is that the candies will melt in this order, “Hershey’s drops”, “Hershey’s mini rectangular bar”, and “Hershey’s big bar”.

Variables
Independent Variable:
Types of candy's
Dependent Variable:
The melting time and the units is seconds.
Variables That Need To Be Controlled:
- Beakers were all the same
- Melted the chocolate in the same room at JBES
- The hot plates were all completely the same
- Heated up the hot plates exactly the same time
- Used the same knife to cut all chocolate

Potential Problems And Solutions
There was only one problem, it was that the chocolate might melt before I could test it.
Safety Or Environmental Concerns
The safety and environmental concerns, was that there might be burning chocolate shooting out. Another is that the hot plates might get to hot for the chocolate to melt, it might just burned it, if it was too hot.
1. Gather materials (Hershey's mini bar, Hershey’s drops, and regular Hershey’s bar, three identical hot plates, a Popsicle stick, and a iPad, and Beakers, and a gram balance.) 2. Measure 5 grams by breaking off tiny pieces of each candy bar till it equals five grams. 3. Get access to the hot plates. 4. Then turn the hot plates on low, to three for five minutes, then put the chocolate in a beaker, on hot plate. 5. Then start the iPad. 6. Make sure all three types of chocolate are melted by poking the chocolate with the Popsicle stick. 7. Record the time that each type of chocolate became a liquid on a spreadsheet. 8. After that repeat steps 5-8 two more times and see which one melts the fastest. 9. Display to the public.

Results
The average melting time for the Hersheys Mini bar is 216.4 seconds. The average melting time for the Hershey's Drops is 145 seconds. The average melting time for the Hershey’s bar, is 159.4 seconds. The Hershey’s mini bars took the longest to melt.
Conclusion
The experiment was designed to test the effect of which type of candy melts the fastest. The results show that the Hershey’s Drops melted the fasted on the low temperature. The second fastest candy is the Hershey’s bar, with a 159.4 average. The slowest candy to melt was the Hershey’s mini bar, with an average of 216.4. The reason for the Hershey’s Drops to be the fastest to melt was probably because it was the smallest out of all three. The reason for the Hershey’s Minis to be the slowest was because it was the thickest and biggest out of the three.
Discussion
The experiment question is “Which type of candy will melt the fastest?” The experiment results answered the experiment question, the answer was that the Hershey’s drops melted the fastest, because it was the smallest out of the three chocolates. The hypothesis was exactly on. It was hypothesized that the Hershey’s drops melted the fastest because it was the smallest out of the three candies. The results for the Hershey's mini bar is 222 seconds, 182, 227, 211, and 240. For the Hershey’s drops, it’s 178 seconds, 118, 131, 138, and 160. For the final candy bar, which is Hershey’s bar, it is, 159 seconds, 151, 163, 150, and 174. The observations seemed to prove that the Hershey’s minis seemed to be fully melted but still keeping its shape. There wasn't really a pattern with the melting of the chocolate. All there really was, was that sometimes the results get really low, then gradually get bigger and bigger. There were no other experiments that were similar to this one. The results for the first trial, for the Hershey’s drops, started out a big number then gradually got smaller and smaller, and then for the last trial it got big again. It is believed that the Hershey’s drops have a shell, but not a hard candy shell, this helped it keep its shape even when it was melted. When conducting the experiment, it had to be started over because, it was forgotten to warm up the hot plates. For the melting chocolate, the experimenter could have poked the the chocolate with a stick sooner instead of waiting forever. For the experiment, the experimenter needed a lot of technology. The experimenter needed three hot plates, two scales, a computer, and a iPad. This experiment couldn't really help things in the future, this experiment was just for fun. Maybe next year the experimenter might do a similar experiment asking the same question.

The purpose of this experiment was out of three candies, which one would melt the fastest on a hot plate. This experiment was done by getting exactly five grams of each candy, then turning the hot plate on low for five minutes to warm up. Once warmed up, the experimenter put five grams of each candy in a beaker, on their separate hot plate. The results for the experiment wasn’t surprising, the Hershey’s drops average were 145 seconds. For the Hershey’s bar the results were 159.4 seconds. For the final candy which is Hershey’s minis the results which took the longest was 216.4 seconds.
